Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati: MDS University Ajmer

Situated near Ghooghra Village on the Pushkar By-Pass, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University (MDSU), situated in Ajmer, in the state of Rajasthan was first established in the name ‘University of Ajmer’.

There are many Government as well as Private colleges affiliated to this University. It is accredited by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council of India (NAAC) with B++ rating and is also certified by the UGC. It is also a member of ‘The Association of Indian Universities’. There are a total of 214 colleges affiliated to MDS University. The University provides a vast range of comforts to the staff, through Academic Staff College. It helps the staff to develop themselves in various criteria.

Computer Laboratory

A computer laboratory was established by the Academic Staff College within the campus and it provides orientation courses. It also provides a training programme titled ‘Karmayogi Prashikshan Karyakram’ to provide basic knowledge of computers to the officials.

Library at MDS University

The University has a fully computerized library also called the ‘Saraswat Bhawan’ with the program of library automation. It has books on varied collection of chemistry, botany, microbiology, history, political science, economics and management studies and also various reference volumes. It also has an additional Xerox service.

It offers various degree and diploma courses in various streams. It also has a centre for Entrepreneurship and small business management program. M.Phil, M.Sc., MBA and PG diploma courses are well known in this University.

Distance Education at MDS University, Ajmer

In MDS University, the distance education offered is limited. Only B.Ed program is offered under the Open University scheme. There are a large number of affiliated colleges which offer this course. In total, the University not only provides education to the students but also inculcates values and moral that is necessary for life.
